Pool has a very active gambling culture that harms the sport and many of its players, limits it audience and turns off potential sponsors. This post lays out 10 reasons why gambling is bad for the game and its players.


In addition to all the great pros, past and present, who provide endless entertainment for me to watch and learn from, there are a number of far less famous people who in a number of different ways make the world of pool a better place. There are 3 main influences from outside the world of pool that have had a profound effect on my pool education. One from tennis, one from baseball and one from a cheesy movie about karate. You can learn these lessons from other sources, but these particular examples have had the most power for me.


The most vivid lessons you learn are usually learned the hard way.
